Consumers Digest Names 11 Husqvarna Products as Best Buys

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 25) — Consumers Digest magazine has named 11 Husqvarna outdoor-powered products as Best Buys in their May/June, 2009 and September/October, 2009 issues.

Best Buys are recognized in the chain saws, leaf blowers and yard care equipment categories. A Consumers Digest Best Buy is defined as a product that offers the most value for a given amount of money.

A Best Buy is also a nationally available product, identified as one that merits special attention from consumers based on its combination of performance, ease-of-use, features, durability, warranty, efficiency, styling, and maintenance and servicing requirements.

"For 49 years, people have trusted Consumers Digest magazine to identify outstanding values in a complex and often confusing marketplace," said Jorgen Rosengren, global category manager, Husqvarna. "Husqvarna has a long history of manufacturing outdoor power equipment for the consumer who demands tough equipment with the best features to get the job done."

Husqvarna models recognized as Consumers Digest Best Buys are:

Chain saws: 450e, 440e, 316E (electric)

"The 450 e-series is one of the lightest models that we found that has an automatic oiler which means that you don't have to push a button to keep the chain lubricated, and tool-less tensioning which makes it easier to adjust the chain," Consumers Digest wrote.

Blowers: 125BVx (handheld blower - vacuum capable); 125B (handheld blower); 356BF (backpack quiet blower - frame-mount throttle); 356BT (backpack quiet blower - tube mount throttle)

According to Consumers Digest, "the 125BVx sucks up leaves as well as any other model we tested. It switches from blower to vacuum more easily than most other gas models do because you need only a screwdriver to pop open the impeller cover on this model."

Trimmers: 128LD Split-shaft trimmer, 128LDX Split-shaft trimmer, 128L Straight-shaft trimmer, 128C Curved-shaft trimmer

The Consumers Digest says, "the 128LD is the lightest split-shaft gas trimmer that has a 16 1/2-inch cutting width, which makes it easier for you to cover a lot of ground in less time when compared with other models that are in this price range."

On average, a Consumers Digest Best Buy rating is awarded to 3% of the competing models in any given product category, according to the publication.
