Massey Ferguson Introduces Compact Tractors with Hydrostatics

DULUTH, Ga. (April 14, 2010) — New for 2010, the Massey Ferguson 1529 and 1532 compact tractors bring three-range hydrostatic transmissions to the Massey Ferguson 1500 Series line. Ideal for landscaping or grounds maintenance work, hydrostatic transmissions provide constant speed and allow for smooth, easy directional changes in small spaces.

"Everything about these tractors was designed to make getting the job done quicker and easier," says Neal Generose, product marketing manager.

"By offering the three-range hydrostatic transmission as a standard feature, Massey Ferguson continues to distinguish its tractors by designing them to deliver maximum productivity and to be enjoyable to operate during a long, hard day of work – a tractor that makes working fun again."

Intended for applications like loader work, mowing and grounds maintenance, three-range hydrostatic transmissions afford the combination of easy operation and precise control of ground speeds. Speed control is simplified with separate forward and reverse foot pedals on a redesigned and uncluttered platform. Cruise control and a factory-installed joystick are standard and enhance easy of operation.

The MF1529 (28.4 hp) and MF1532 (32.5 hp) are powered by a Tier IV interim-emission-compliant Iseki 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine. An electric-hydraulic independent PTO and Category 1, 3-point hitch makes operating implements such as a tiller, rotary cutter, finish mower and a multitude of others a simple task.

Maintaining operator comfort and convenience was of the utmost importance when designing the MF1529 and MF1532. Tilt steering makes room for a wide entry and exit area, while a new molded rubber floor mat provides traction and helps reduce vibration that could be transferred to the operator. An easy-to-read instrument panel helps keep the operator informed of the tractor's performance.

"We want the customer to enjoy the experience of owning and operating a Massey Ferguson tractor," says Generose. "Many of the features that come standard on these compact models are only optional features on similar competitive models. With more standard features, we're able to deliver a compact tractor that's more comfortable, versatile and reliable."

A full-line of handy and useful attachments, from loaders and backhoes to mowers, brooms and blades, designed specifically for the 1500 Series tractors are available to meet your every need.
