Teske Named as Next CEO at Briggs & Stratton
WAUWATOSA, Wis. — Briggs & Stratton Corp.'s board has elected company president and chief operating officer Todd J. Teske as a director.
He was also elected to become the firm's president and chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2010.
Teske will serve as a member of the class of directors whose terms of office expire in 2010.
Briggs & Stratton chief executive John Shiely announced last month that he plans to retire Dec. 31. Shiely has been chairman and chief executive of Briggs since September, after serving as chairman, CEO and president since January 2003.
Teske, 44, has served as president and chief operating officer since Sept. 1. He is also president of Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group LLC. He previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer since September 2005, and as senior vice president and president-Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group LLC, from September 2003 until August 2005.
