MILWAUKEE (Oct. 25, 2013) — Many homeowners have a desire to mow with commercial-grade equipment, particularly homeowners with large lawns. To answer that need, the new Snapper 550Z zero turn mower targets the “prosumer” market with its professional-grade features and a price point starting at $4,999.001.
Homeowners looking for a commercial-quality zero turn mower can select from two models featuring either a 25-gross hp2 Briggs & Stratton Commercial Turf Series V-twin engine or a 24-gross hp3 Kawasaki FR730V engine; a high-performance Hydro-Gear ZT-3100 transmission; a rugged frame built with 1.5” x 2” welded steel rails; and a 61” fabricated mower deck constructed from 10-gauge steel. Both models feature speeds up to 10 mph, a 5.5 gallon fuel tank, 20” drive tires and a roll-over protection system (ROPS).
“The genesis for the 550Z comes from years of experience building premium-quality commercial mowers under our Ferris and Snapper Pro brand names,” says Troy Blewett, a spokesperson for the Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group. “We’ve borrowed from that experience to bring this product line to market at incredibly attractive ‘prosumer’ price points.”
