Incorporating all the design expertise and engineering skill that distinguish its industry-leading equipment for larger operations, yet designed to meet the needs of the rural lifestyle rancher or small farmer, the new Case IH RB455A round baler big performance in a right-sized package.

Requiring only 40 PTO horsepower to operate, the RB455A is the perfect mate for the new Farmall A Series tractors. That means operations of moderate size can count on the RB455A for big-time productivity without the operating costs associated with a larger baler.

"When we designed this new round baler, the RB455A, we wanted all the performance and flexibility we built into our machines for larger acreage operations," says Scott Raber, Case IH Marketing Manager, Hay and Forage. "We knew there was a need for a round baler like this, because small farmers have to get the most out of every acre, and smaller farms deserve full-size performance."

The RB455A produces up to a 4x5-foot bale weighing up to 1,000 pounds and is available with features such as factory- or field-installed mesh wrap, up to two pickup gauge wheels and deluxe or basic monitoring systems. No corners have been cut when it comes to bale wrapping either with a four ball twine capacity and dual electric actuated twine arms as standard equipment.

Superior bale formation is achieved through a field-tested and proven roll and belt design: Five 7-inch-wide chevron-pattern forming belts work with a simple, single hydraulic cylinder and a tension spring to offer reliable results and long-term durability.

"For customers who use our Farmall A Series tractors or a comparable machine, this is the ideal round baler," concludes Raber. "All it takes is 40 PTO horsepower and a single hydraulic remote, and you're up and running, picking up a 62-inch width and turning out thousand-pound bales."
