Blairstown, N.J. — Kioti Tractor held an internal business meeting on July 15th to review their success in meeting the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in a number of areas including sales, marketing and customer service during the first half of 2011. Kioti has reported a 15.98% increase in sales revenue relative to the first half of 2010 and added more than 30 new dealership locations throughout North America. In addition, the company has continued to introduce new product lines such as its Mechron UTV. Peter Dong Kyun Kim, Chief Executive Officer, Daedong-USA, Inc. Kioti Tractor Division, and his team of directors were instrumental in achieving these goals.
“We spent a significant amount of time defining Key Performance Indicators for 2011 and establishing their measurement criteria. Once completed, they were clearly communicated to the staff, along with our corporate vision so that the entire Kioti team was working towards the common goal of becoming a leader in the compact tractor and UTV markets,” states Kim. “By clearly communicating our expectations and goals to employees, we have found that they are more dedicated and unified in their efforts to help the company reach these goals.”
Evidence of this commitment presented itself to the management team when they assessed results for the first half of the year. Through a combination of increased sales and the generation of new cost-containment efficiencies, the company was able to successfully maintain its profitability. They also scored 89% on their mid-year Dealer Satisfaction Survey. “To see the employees rally behind the KPI’s and exceed many of them is extremely gratifying and signifies that our team shares the common goal of continuing the success that Kioti has enjoyed during our first 25 years in North America,” states Michael Boucher, Senior Director of Sales and Operations.
For 2011, the company’s sales are on pace to be at a record high for its 25th year in business in North America. This growth in a sluggish economy comes through the aggressive and ongoing analysis of the marketplace, market share, dealer presence, product support and the product line. “We are an extremely proactive company in terms of how we approach the market,” states Eugene Medeiros, Director of Product Support. “When dealers ask us to enhance our product line or the services we offer, we immediately look into the request, ask appropriate questions and take action. If it is not a product or service that makes sense for our business model, we do our best to help them find an alternative solution.”
Peter Kim and the new executive management team are looking to continue this momentum with the help of all members of the Kioti staff to reach a new level of presence in the North American compact tractor and UTV markets. “We have many employees whose contributions and visions help us continue to improve the products and services we bring to market. We are looking forward to continuing our success throughout the remainder of 2011 to end the year strongly. We will continue to strive for excellence in every facet of our business,” states Kim.
Following the meeting, an employee luncheon was catered by the 42nd Street Oyster Bar. “We have a culture rooted in team spirit,” says Anna Kim, Director of Human Resources. “We like to get our employees and the management team together on an ongoing basis to celebrate the company’s success. These types of events help build camaraderie.”
