Oct. 24, 2013 — STIHL highlighted its M-Tronic engine management technology at the 2013 GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kent.

The innovative STIHL M-Tronic microprocessor-controlled engine management system optimizes engine performance and compensates for changes in operating conditions, such as temperature, elevation, fuel quality, and dirty air filter.

  • Microprocessor electronically controls the ignition timing and fuel metering 33 times/second.
  • Eliminates the need for manual carburetor adjustments
  • Excellent acceleration – electronic ignition timing and fuel metering allows quick acceleration, even after cold start.
  • New technology provides a simplified start procedure, reducing the chance of flooding.
