A Jan. 16 report from Dubois County Free Press stated that Arrowhead Engineered Products will close the Stens facility in Jasper, Ind., later this year and incorporate it into the company's new Portland, Tenn., location.

"This move resulted from an extensive review of our North American facility and distribution network, revealing that a new mega-facility was needed to serve the company’s growing customer base and support and expand the hub and spoke distribution model," the report said.

Arrowhead had announced on Jan. 16 the opening of its newly constructed 540,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Portland, Tenn., which is said is "designed and built for operational efficiency, will provide employees with modern workspaces and leading-edge logistics technology, including advanced storage and conveyance systems and cross-docking capabilities."

“This move expands on our hub and spoke distribution model that provides the flexibility, 1–2-day shipping delivery times and tailored service our customers enjoy,” said Jason Flagstad, Arrowhead’s executive vice president of operations and IT in North America.
