Generac has completed the sale of its Mean Green electrified commercial mower business to Mowtech Partners, an affiliate of CADCo Distributors and an existing Mean Green distribution partner. The transaction was effective June 1, 2026.
As part of the transition, employees at the Ross, Ohio, manufacturing facility have moved over to Mowtech Partners. The Mean Green business, including its product line, brand identity and dealer network, will continue under the new ownership.
Mean Green has long been viewed as one of the early movers in the electrified commercial mowing space, building its reputation around battery powered, zero emission turf equipment aimed at professional landscape crews. The brand grew its footprint through a lineup of walk behind and stand on mowers and later became part of Generac Power Systems in 2022 as Generac expanded deeper into outdoor power equipment and electrification.
The company was originally founded in Ohio with a focus on all electric commercial mowing at a time when the category was still very much in its early stages. From those early efforts, Mean Green helped push the adoption of battery powered turf equipment forward, offering landscapers a quieter, lower maintenance alternative to traditional gas-powered machines and gradually building a loyal base in the commercial market.
With the sale, Mowtech Partners assumes ownership of the Mean Green brand and its established dealer network, maintaining continuity for customers and channel partners while shifting operational control to a distributor aligned ownership group already active within the Mean Green ecosystem.
