The Command PRO EFI line of engines from Kohler Engines is again expanding with the launch of new 34 and 38 horsepower models. The new additions are expected to be popular among end users seeking higher horsepower in conjunction with the significant fuel cost and maintenance savings, reliable starting, and incredible performance delivered through Kohler’s entire EFI lineup. The Command PRO EFI family of products now encompasses 16 different engines ranging from 19 to 38 horsepower to meet the diverse needs of today’s green industry professionals.

“The addition of the new 34 and 38 horsepower engines is based on two factors,” said Justin Blount, director of marketing for Kohler Engines. “First, overall response to our EFI line has been tremendously positive. And, second, end users have shared their desire for us to add higher horsepower models to the line. We’re very pleased to see that the level of excitement and industry buzz surrounding these engines is continuing to spread as green industry pros across the county benefit from the fuel cost savings and high-level of performance that our closed-loop EFI line provides.”

The Kohler closed-loop EFI engines include an oxygen sensor that analyzes the air/fuel mixture in the muffler. If the oxygen level strays from the ideal air/fuel mixture, the sensor triggers adjustments to the amount of fuel injected into the system. Only KOHLER engines then “close the loop” between the air/fuel intake and the exhaust output to provide a constant stream of critical feedback, which helps deliver optimal fuel efficiency and a variety of other benefits, including easy starting, fuel adaptability, improved power, and increased life span.

The closed-loop EFI technology from Kohler Engines has been shown to save end-users up to $600 in fuel per year when compared to a KOHLER carbureted engine under comparable loads and duty cycles and based on 600 hours of annual operation. Plus, the carburetor-free design of the EFI line can lead to additional savings because carburetor maintenance and replacement costs are completely eliminated. High-efficiency, heavy-duty air filters are also utilized in the EFI engines to provide protection from debris and ensure long service intervals. Finally, additional efficiency gains can be attributed to the MAP sensor integrated into the line. This sensor monitors and helps to adjust engine performance based on altitude, weather conditions, and other environmental variables.
