Todd Teske, chief executive officer, chairman and president of Briggs & Stratton Corp. has been tapped to serve a two-year term as chairman of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation.

Teske replaces outgoing chairman Carlos Cardoso, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Fort Mill, S.C.-based Kennametal Inc.

The alliance conducts business research, offers executive education, and is an advocate for manufacturing. Briggs & Stratton (NYSE: BGG), which is based in Wauwatosa, makes engines and lawn mower parts.

“I look forward to MAPI continuing its outstanding research to get the facts on the table as well as its peer exchange and executive education offerings, and to build on its 81 years of history and service to the manufacturing community,” Teske said.
