Business offers full line of Husqvarna and Land Pride lawn and garden equipment.

The Modern Farm Lawn & Garden Co. store is now operating from a new location at 2929 N. Bluff St. directly across the street from Modern Farm Equipment Co.

Don Vandeloecht, owner of both Modern Farm Equipment Co. and Modern Farm Lawn & Garden Co., said a new 1,000-square-foot building has been constructed for the lawn and garden business located across from the farm equipment building where New Holland farm equipment is offered.

Modern Farm Lawn & Garden Co. is managed by Bryant Liddle.

Liddle retired recently from AT&T and has been working full time since March 15 as the manager of Modern Farm Lawn & Garden.

"Our customers really like our new location. It's convenient for everyone and we have a new building," Liddle said.

The Modern Farm Lawn & Garden business offers a full line of Husqvarna and Land Pride lawn and garden equipment.

Lawn and garden equipment includes chain saws, lawn mowers, trimmers and tillers.

"We also offer Grasshopper lawn mowers for residential and commercial use," Liddle said.

"We can order parts and service just about any brand of lawn and garden equipment. Larry Senevey is the service technician at Modern Farm Lawn & Garden," Liddle said.

Liddle said the firm no longer offers household appliances such as refrigerators and stoves. "We want to concentrate our efforts on lawn and garden equipment," Liddle said.

Vandeloecht said the lawn and garden business had been located previously at 2012 N. Bluff St. But that location was sold for office space next to the new location of Moser's Supermarket in the space occupied previously by Gerbes Supermarket.

An open house for the new Modern Farm Lawn and Garden store was held last Friday.

"This new location allows us to concentrate our businesses in one area. It also is more convenient for our customers," Vandeloecht said.

Modern Farm Equipment Co. was founded by John Jameson in 1947.
