Outdoor power equipment retailer Weingartz Supply Co. is acquiring the real estate and assets of Livonia-based Commercial Lawnmower Inc. in a deal that gives Weingartz its first store in Wayne County, Mich.

The Utica, Mich.-based company is buying the 41-year-old business from its founder and rebranding the 25,000-square-foot store to Weingartz with an official opening on March 4. It will be Weingartz's fifth store in southeast Michigan. It also operates a store in the Grand Rapids area. It is also only the second acquisition since the company started in 1945 — its previous one took place almost 20 years ago.

"It was such a good cultural fit for us," said Dan Weingartz, president of the company. "It fits right into out model, from the attitude toward customers to the longtime employees that are there."

Weingartz declined to disclose terms of the deal.

Commercial Lawnmower sells an assortment of ride and push mowers and snow blowers. It also sells parts and repair services.
