Greenzie, an autonomous software company for commercial lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment, closed an $8 million corporate strategic round – its largest equity raise yet – led by Atlanta Ventures and including a strategic investment by Bobcat Company.

According to an Oct. 17 press release, Kubota has begun operations at its new production facility in Salina, Kan.

The $70 million investment makes the location the company’s largest manufacturing facility in North America and will add hundreds more jobs in Iredell County over the next 5 years.

According to press releases from Bobcat, the company recently wrapped up a $26 million expansion at its Litchfield, Minn., facility and committed to a $70 million expansion of its Statesville, N.C., facility.

It's hard to believe how much grain needs to be shipped down the Mississippi River to keep the massive elevators in New Orleans working at full capacity. If we're going to double yields over the next few decades, we've also got to invest in new facilities to get these valuable grains to market around the world.
