LOUISVILLE, Ky., October 31, 2012 — Last week at the GIE+EXPO 2012 trade show, Exmark gave the industry its first look at the company’s new 36-inch walk-behind Rotary Broom. The new model raises the bar for rotary broom maneuverability with new, patented steering technology, and offers a choice of bristle materials to accommodate virtually any surface and varying terrain. It gives landscape professionals a versatile new tool they can use for a wide variety of tasks, from snow removal, to leaf sweeping or turf maintenance.

“At Exmark, our goal is to provide innovative solutions to the challenges our customers face,” said Daryn Walters, Exmark Director of Marketing. “When we saw the opportunity to help our customers work more efficiently and productively by developing a more maneuverable, versatile rotary broom, it was one we wanted to pursue. We’re excited to offer our customers a rotary broom that offers unmatched performance and versatility combined with Exmark’s signature durability, finish quality and superior dealer and customer service network.”

The 36-inch walk-behind Rotary Broom introduces a patented power steering system, which utilizes fingertip trigger controls to make turning, reversing and steering easy. The Rotary Broom also offers independent control levers for drive- and broom-engagement, and an easy-to-use thumb operated broom angle adjustment, for a user-friendly control layout.

The 36-inch width rotary broom can be angled up-to 20-degrees left-or-right with fingertip control. To ensure precise ground engagement and provide easy leveling, Exmark has incorporated a robust positive pin-type broom height adjustment system with 1/8-inch increments. Two bristle materials are available for the broom to provide all-season versatility and maximize cleaning effectiveness with minimal impact, depending on surface. Standard brush material is optimized for concrete and snow and is black in color. Yellow turf-specific bristles are also available, along with specific turf casters. The less-aggressive bristle material is optimized to be slightly less aggressive, ideal for maintaining turf surfaces without damage.

Further enhancing the four-season versatility of Rotary Broom is the powerful CH270 Kohler Command Pro engine. The multi-season design of the engine allows it to function in both warm and cold environments with a simple 180-degree rotation of the air intake. Commercial-duty features, including a cyclonic air filter, cast-iron cylinder bore, steel-forged crankshaft and all-metal 4.2qt. (4.0L) fuel tank promise long service life through operation in harsh environments.

Exmark has also developed a number of accessories for the 36-inch walk-behind Rotary Broom to allow users to further maximize productivity of their machine in their environments. Available accessories include:

  • Tire chain kit
  • Snow cab kit
  • Turf caster kit
