Woods has announced the latest addition to its rotary tiller lineup: the Woods DirtBreaker Rotary Tiller. According to a news release issued June 4 by the company, the new tiller is ideal for under 35 horsepower tractors, delivering a finished seedbed in one pass making it an upgrade from a walk-behind tiller. Unlike chain-driven tillers — which can be prone to chain breakage and frequent repair, the DirtBreaker tiller’s rigorously tested, gear-driven side drive is built for long-term durability and requires little maintenance, reports the company, which adds that end-users get a quality seedbed fast while saving time and money.
In listing key features, the company noted the finished seedbed, whereby a tapered tailgate removes furrow, offset tiller width covers tire tracks, and adjustable skid shoes provide tillage depth control, so an end-user tills only as deep as is necessary for the planting application.
Toward durability, the DirtBreaker is rigorously tested, robust, and its durable gear-driven side drive requires little to no maintenance for years of tilling. Designed for easy connection, Woods reports that its Quick-Hitch Ready design features built-in bushings, so a customer can hitch up and get right to work. In addition, a captured parking stand allows the operator to easily disconnect the tiller from the tractor. Woods also offers that its 6-year gearbox warranty includes parts, labor, seals and extends to both the main gearbox and gear side-drive.
The company, founded in 1946, when the Wood Brothers unveiled the first successful tractor-mounted rotary cutter, designs and manufactures innovative, high-quality attachments delivered around the world and is based in Oregon, Ill.
