James Brenn, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Briggs & Stratton Co. since 1998, is retiring in December.

He will be replaced by David Rodgers, vice president of finance, effective June 28, Briggs said in a news release.

Rodgers was the company's controller from December 2006 to January 2010 and was elected an officer of the company in 2007.

He is a graduate of Marquette University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Before coming to Briggs in late 2006, he was vice president and corporate controller at Roundy's Supermarkets Inc.

Brenn, who has been with Briggs for 32 years, will remain a senior vice president after June 28, assisting Rodgers until December.
