GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Apr. 2, 2015)---The Engine Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. announced today the promotion of Timothy J. Malinowski to the position of director, national OEM sales & product development.  Malinowski, who joined Kawasaki in 1998 and has held several sales positions at the company, most recently held the title of senior sales manager-OEM sales.
The promotion is effective immediately.
The new position will entail greater management responsibility over the OEM sales team at the growing engine division.  Malinowski will relinquish direct, day-to-day account requirements, while broadening the scope of his oversight to include the functions of government relations and product development.  The managers of each of these departments will now report to Malinowski.
Charged with maintenance and growth of Kawasaki’s OEM business, he will continue his close association with the numerous brands working with the company, and will develop and implement strategies towards the acquisition of new business in sectors identified for future expansion.
Malinowski will also assume primary liaison responsibilities with Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A. during the product development stages. Also included in his new position is the responsibility for leading the collaborative effort amongst relevant Kawasaki departments during the process of product launch, marketing, and retail sales activities.  
“I’ve been fortunate to have many opportunities and challenges during my time at Kawasaki,” he said.  “This new position offers me a chance to continue the relationships I’ve built, both internally and with the OEM community, while at the same time reaching out to help the company continue its phenomenal growth curve.”
Malinowski received a B.A. from Michigan State University and a Master’s of Management from Aquinas College.
Kawasaki currently markets more than 40 general purpose engines, most of which are produced by Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A. in its Maryville, Mo. facility which has turned out in excess of eight million units.
