June is Safety Awareness Month, so it's a good time to make it a discussion topic at your dealership over the next few weeks and keep it a priority year round.
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) offers a variety of tools to help incorporate safe practices into the workplace. AEM has than 100 safety products, including manuals and videos for the safe operation of aerial work platforms, cranes, skid steer loaders, compact excavators, industrial agricultural mowers and many others. You can also download the organization's Equipment Safety Poster (PDF, 3.1 MB) to display on your shop floor, break room or other areas in your dealership.
Resources are also available to help your sales team educate customers on the safe operation of equipment. The National Farmers Union (NFU) offers a series of 10 educational videos hopes for farm and ranch families, agriculture workers and others about hazards and proper safety procedures to avoid farm-related accidents or casualties. The videos are available at www.NFU.org/farmsafety.
