BISMARCK, N.D. — Bobcat Co. says it is moving manufacturing of compact excavators from its Gwinner facility to the company's plant in Bismarck, according to a story in The Bismarck Tribune.

The company said Thursday that it estimates about 160 jobs will be created in Bismarck, while roughly 140 employees will be cut in Gwinner. It says the jobs impacted in Gwinner are expected to be managed through attrition.

Laura Ness Owens of Bobcat says that Bismarck provides the resources, manufacturing space and greater capacity the company needs to remain successful in the excavator market. The company says moving manufacturing to Bismarck offers the space necessary to produce its next generation of compact excavators.
