Ariens announces its new EZ-Launch EFI engines for its Sno-Thro line, the first EFI engine in the snow blower segment, according to Matt Medden, Ariens vice president of marketing.

Compared with carbureted engines, the EFI engines provide easier starting, consistent power and increased fuel efficiency. “EFI technology uses the right amount of fuel, offers easy maintenance and eliminates all issues related to fuel in a carbureted engine,” says Medden. This includes issues caused by long-term storage.

The EFI system is constantly measuring and monitoring air temperature, engine temperature, engine speed and altitude to deliver the correct amount of fuel and air to the engines. Because the monitoring is happening in real time, the machine can adjust quickly, according to the company.

Medden says the technology will appeal to customers who are looking for reliability, power and easier starting. This may include women, older consumers, those who are new to the machines as well as commercial users.

The technology will be available in a Deluxe and Platinum model and available in October. The Deluxe model will retail for $1,699 and will be sold at Home Depot and through the dealer network. The Platinum model will retail for $1,799 and will be sold only through dealers.
