HOUSTON — Mahindra North America (MNA) is expanding its Women In Ag initiative with its sponsorship of FarmHer, an RFD-TV-original program, in its premiere season. FarmHer is hosted by Marji Guyler-Alaniz who began this journey three years ago when she began using still photography to share the important work of women in agriculture. FarmHer is now telling the stories behind the photographs and bringing them into more than 50 million households through its program on RFD-TV. The show debuts with 26 episodes airing in its first season and will begin taping its second season in Spring 2017.

“Women weren’t pictured anywhere in agriculture even though we know they are there. My career began working in agriculture, my grandparents were farmers, and I grew up in the country, so I knew women were a big part of agriculture. Rather than be frustrated, I decided to do something, so I started the photography project, FarmHer,” says Guyler-Alaniz. “Now with the television show, we can take these still photographs and bring them to life and share the stories of these women.”

“We are pleased to sponsor FarmHer and be a part of bringing forward this new program that recognizes women who are involved in agricultural right now:  on the farm, as students or in an ag-related business. These women are doing good and important work; we want to help bring them to the forefront of the ag conversation,” says Cleo Franklin, vice president marketing and strategic planning, MNA. “This program dovetails with our Women In Ag initiative which includes scholarships for young women in FFA, our portrayal of strong ag-focused women in our advertising and our partnership with American Agri-Women.”
