Husqvarna Professional Products Inc., is voluntarily recalling 1,700 riding lawn tractors after the company received 53 reports of fuel line damage.
The recall involves gas-powered Husqvarna riding tractors designed for residential use. The rear-mounted fuel tank is too long and can come into contact with moving parts while the tractor is in use causing a fire hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The affected lawn mowers were sold between January to May of 2010 for about $3,000 and have model and serial numbers including GTH27V52LS, 96043009100, 96043009900 and 010810A00XXXX through 05061000XXXX.
The identification plate with the model and serial numbers can be found underneath the tractor seat.
The company recommends that consumers stop using the recalled mowers immediately and contact a Husqvarna to arrange for a free repair at 1-877-257-6921.
