A Briggs & Stratton company spokesperson confirmed that the company has laid off 80 employees, reports Fox6 News in Milwaukee. The company says the layoffs were not related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the spokesperson, it is related to the Briggs’ Strategic Repositioning Plan that was announced in early March. According to the article, the company says they are taking necessary steps by reducing the headcount in certain areas where less support is needed.
