WEST FARGO, N.D. — As part of its commitment to support local communities, Doosan Bobcat North America announced today the donation of 5,000 pairs of socks to local homeless shelters and veterans’ programs in North Dakota, Minnesota, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin and Nevada. The donation socks were provided by Bombas, an e-commerce sock and apparel company with a mission to help those in need. The brand donates a specially designed item for every item sold.

“At Doosan Bobcat, we are committed to supporting the communities where our customers, dealers and employees live and work,” said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America. “We are pleased to partner with Bombas and grateful we can make a positive impact to those needing assistance.”

Doosan Bobcat began working with Bombas in March at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, a Las Vegas-based construction industry trade show, where it provided 5,000 booth attendees with Bombas’s new, high-performance boot socks. Through this partnership, Doosan Bobcat donated 5,000 pairs of socks to U.S. homeless shelters and veterans’ programs in communities where Doosan Bobcat has operations.

Since its 2013 inception, Bombas has donated more than 35 million items to those in need with the help of more than 3,000 homeless shelters and community organizations nationwide. Socks are the most requested clothing item in U.S. homeless shelters.

“We are excited about joining forces with Doosan Bobcat to raise awareness around homelessness by supporting the communities where they work and live,” said Alex Cohen, associate director of corporate sales at Bombas.

The Bombas donation socks are specially designed to meet the needs of those experiencing homelessness. Features include an anti-microbial treatment to prevent fungus, reinforced seams for more durability and darker colors for less visible wear. The 5,000 Bombas socks were distributed to the following nonprofit organizations:

  • Heavens Helpers Soup Café and Ministry on the Margins – Bismarck, N.D.
  • YWCA of Cass and Clay Counties – Fargo, N.D.
  • RSR Human Service Zone – Gwinner, N.D.
