Haruyuki (Harry) Yoshida is a 37-year Kubota veteran who most recently held the position of managing executive officer and general manager of farm and industrial machinery domain, strategy and operations headquarters in Osaka, Japan, and has previously spent time in the U.S. in various roles.
The company has already experienced increased access to its 1,100-strong dealer network since it began leasing space in the area in 2015. The current 765,000 square-foot leased facility will remain in operation in Logistics Park Kansas City until the new facilities are complete.
The ranch is roughly 30 miles northwest of its North American headquarters location in Grapevine, Texas. Kubota Ranch offers field space for testing, training, operating and demonstrating Kubota equipment.
The venture will leverage the power of the research-intensive university system to help improve agriculture, construction and turf equipment while tapping tomorrow’s thought leaders today.
Kubota Corp.’s acquisition of Great Plains finalized on July 1 and leaders from both companies told dealers at its recent national dealer meeting in Kansas City, Mo., that it’s “business as usual.” Confirming messages from the earlier announcement of the pending acquisition, all five Great Plains divisions will operate as they have been with their infrastructure intact.
Once final, the purchase will expand the company’s long-time partnership with Land Pride and will include all five Great Plains divisions with multiple facilities in Kansas and a manufacturing plant in Sleaford, England.
