Used Tractor Inventory is Growing, Is It a Buyer's Market?

Tractor Mike explains Inventory levels for used compact and utility tractors are up 80.58% from the same time last year according to the latest data. As used inventory of compact and utility tractors has continued to grow, asking value increases have slowed. Although auction values have dropped sharply from last year, they've risen seasonally as the Spring buying season took off. The change in auction values versus the change in retail asking prices is currently out of proportion. It is expected that these numbers will come back in line, with growing inventory forcing equipment dealers to lower asking prices.

Mentor Puts Employment on the Line for ‘Rookie’ Writer

“A career-defining moment for me happened in the late 1950s when I was a dairy science student at Michigan State University (MSU). I was the sixth generation raised on a Michigan dairy farm, and I started pondering being the first in 100-plus years not to return to the farm. That is, I was starting to come to grips with my lack of interest in heading back home to milk cows, lug hay bales and wake each day before sunrise,” writes Lessiter Media founder Frank Lessiter. An earlier experience with Del Grove of Michigan Farmer, not only influenced a new ag journalist but also influenced Frank's content-first philosophy that would prove unique among ag media companies.
