The Equipment & Engine Training Council (EETC) has announced that, effective May 1, Bruce Tallman will take over as executive director.
Tallman, of Walker Manufacturing, brings more than 30 years of experience in the power equipment industry, with a background in education, technical service and leadership. In his role as technical service manager for Fort Collins, Colo.-based Walker Manufacturing, Tallman had overseen warranties, tech training, customer service, customer technical service and technical documentation.
Known for his deep commitment to workforce development and certification standards, Tallman is well-positioned to lead EETC into its next chapter of growth and innovation, according to industry news reports from OPE+ issued by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI).
“We are thrilled to welcome Bruce to the EETC,” said Nick Testa, president of the EETC Executive Board. “His industry knowledge, strategic mindset, and passion for technician training and excellence make him the ideal leader to guide our mission forward,” added Testa, Associate Professor, Agricultural Engineering Technology Dept. at State University of New York at Cobleskill.
Tallman has previously served in leadership roles with manufacturers, dealerships, and training institutions, where he championed technician development and the expansion of certification programs. As executive director, he will oversee EETC’s operations, strategic initiatives, and partnerships aimed at strengthening technical education and raising industry standards.
“I am honored to join EETC at such a pivotal time,” said Tallman. “As technology rapidly evolves, it’s essential that we equip our technicians with the skills and certifications they need to thrive. I look forward to working with our members, educators, and partners to advance the industry and support the next generation of professionals.”
The EETC is a non profit organization, based in Kings Mountain, N.C., which is dedicated to increasing the number of highly-skilled technicians in the outdoor power equipment industry. Its purpose is to provide comprehensive hands-on and online education, training materials, tech certification and program accreditation. It remains committed to promoting excellence in equipment and engine technician training through certification, resources, and collaboration with schools, manufacturers, and service providers nationwide. For over 25 years, the Equipment & Engine Training Council (EETC) has provided members with education, certification and accreditation to grow skills and widen their horizons.
The organization, alongside the industry's manufacturers, have participated in the state and national Skills USA competition, which is a competition for the brightest in their trade all across the state and nation come together to show off their skills as future technicians.
