This Old House magazine recently honored the new BGA 85 STIHL Lithium-Ion blower as a top product of the year. Part of the new STIHL Battery KombiSystem line, the BGA 85 provides homeowners another eco-conscious choice to help reduce their overall impact on the environment.

Each year editors from This Old House select the "Top 100: Best New Home Products of 2011." This annual award honors the year's most innovative new products and ideas for the home.

"STIHL constantly works to use innovative technology to provide every user, from home gardeners to professional landscapers, with the quality and performance they are looking for," said Roger Phelps, promotional communications manager for STIHL Inc. "We know that today's consumer is more concerned about the environment than ever before and receiving this award from This Old House is an honor and a validation of our efforts,"

The commercial grade, 36-volt STIHL Lithium-Ion technology blower eliminates fuel cost and engine emissions while delivering excellent blower performance with 102 mph at the nozzle. Running quieter than its gasoline-powered equivalents, the BGA 85 is ideal for emission- and noise-restricted areas.

"The BGA 85 can be used for anything from cleaning around the yard to areas where noise can be an issue, such as schools and hospitals," said Marv Mathwig, product manager for STIHL Inc. "This blower is environmentally responsible yet still provides its users with unmatched performance for their tasks."

The STIHL BGA 85 is part of a full line of lithium-ion products from STIHL. The line includes the HSA 65 hedge trimmer, the FSA 65 and FSA 85 grass trimmers and the MSA 160 C-BQ chain saw.

STIHL has partnered with the RBRC (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation), and batteries can be returned for recycling at participating STIHL servicing dealers: www.call2recycle.org.
