Expansion comes as Mahindra marks its 25th year in the U.S.

Morbark is privately held and primarily owned by Stellex Capital Partners. The president of Morbark is Dave Herr and he will continue in this role upon completion of the transaction when the company will become a part of Alamo’s Industrial Division led by Jeff Leonard.

According to the latest data from the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers, U.S. sales of under 40 HP 2WD tractors increased 2.1%, while sales of 40-100 HP tractors decreased 1.4%. For Canada, sales of under 40 HP 2WD tractors increased 9.1%, while sales for 40-100 HP decreased 4.2%.

On Sept. 1, the Indian tractor manufacturer announced that its August domestic tractor sales had fallen 15% to 13,871 units, compared to 16,375 units in August 2018. Additionally, Mahindra reported that its tractor exports had also dropped 33% to 946 units in August 2019, compared to 1,410 units in August 2018.

The plastic sheathing on the throttle cable can melt due to improper routing, causing the throttle to stick. This could result in the operator not being able to stop the vehicle, posing a crash hazard. John Deere has received reports of 9 incidents. No injuries have been reported.
